Kerman Astronomy Association

About Our Astronomy Society We are a passionate and dynamic astronomy society dedicated to the education, outreach, and promotion of astronomy in our community. Our mission is to spark curiosity about the universe and make the wonders of the night sky accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. What We Do: Educational Programs:We offer structured courses, workshops, and lectures on fundamental and advanced astronomical concepts — from the basics of stargazing to astrophysics and cosmology. Public Outreach and Events:Through public stargazing nights, space-themed events (such as Yuri’s Night), and interactive experiences like telescope observations and VR spacewalks, we aim to bring astronomy closer to everyday life. Youth and Student Engagement:We focus on nurturing the next generation of astronomers by organizing tailored programs for students, school visits, and hands-on astronomy activities designed for young minds. Astronomical Camps and Observations:We regularly hold observation camps in ideal dark-sky locations, including the breathtaking Lut Desert, where participants can experience the night sky in its purest form. Instrument Building and Practical Learning:In our workshops, participants not only learn the theory but also get hands-on experience building simple astronomical tools and learning how to use telescopes and other observational equipment. We believe astronomy is not just a science—it’s a way to connect people with the universe and inspire wonder, imagination, and a deeper understanding of our place in the cosmos.
