This year\, the worldwide organization honors the first human in space and the launch of the first Space Shuttle\, both with anniversaries on April 12. \nFor one unforgettable night\, the visitor complex transforms into an illuminated\, after‑hours experience where space enthusiasts and explorers of all ages gather to experience the attractions after hours\, meet astronauts\, hear from special guests\, and have some fun on the dance floor. \nFavorite Kennedy Under the Stars experiences return\, such as: \nLive DJ entertainment and dance party in NASA Central \nCosmic Glow Mini Golf in the Rocket Garden \nLive “street” entertainment \nAstronaut meet and greet (announced soon) \nAfter-hours access to many visitor complex attractions* \nDon’t forget! Space-themed costumes are encouraged\, but no face coverings or weapons will be permitted (no costume contests). \nNew with the addition of Yuri’s Night are favorite Yuri’s Night characters\, and fireside chats with notable guests in the space industry. (SMC)\, developed in collaboration with TMORA using objects from its permanent and research collections. More than two hundred objects on display date to the Cold War era (1950s–1980s) and were produced on both sides of the Iron Curtain\, the political divide between the capitalist West and the communist East. \nThis rich and diverse show unfolds the era when the drama and intrigue of real-world espionage and fascination with outer space began to seep into Western popular culture. On display are unique vintage pieces featuring James Bond and characters from Lost in Space\, Star Wars\, and Star Trek. \nLess obsessed with spies\, the Soviet counterpart of American popular culture used the tactic of Inspire and Scare. Soviet space achievements were glorified across magazines\, newspapers\, greeting cards\, postage stamps\, and even holiday tree ornaments\, while propaganda posters created a scary image of the capitalist West—featuring the war-mongering and greedy Western capitalist and their leader Uncle Sam\, a lampoon with a sinister twist\, wearing a familiar goatee and top hat. \nvenue: \nMuseum of Russian Art\n5500 Stevens Avenue\nMinneapolis\, MN\n \n on the corner of I-35W and Diamond Lake Road \n

Robinson is currently the Director of the UC Davis Center for Space Exploration Research. \nAn eclectic mix of food trucks and cash bar will provide sustenance to the revelers. The facility offers free monthly open houses for observing the skies with trained amateur astronomers. Outreach programs are managed by the Rittenhouse Astronomical Society\, one of the oldest amateur astronomical organizations in the country with a rich history of providing information to the public through presentations from knowledgeable and practicing scientists.

This training encompassed a wide range of skills and disciplines\, designed to prepare her for long duration missions on the International Space Station\, or trips to the Moon as part of NASA’s Artemis program.\n\n\n\n\n\nBut before the first humans ever ventured into space\, no-one knew how the human body might react to spaceflight\, so the training given to the first NASA astronauts and Soviet Cosmonauts had quite a different emphasis.\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin space historian Kerrie Dougherty as she explores the ways in which astronaut training has changed and developed across the decades – and how the fundamentals of preparing an astronaut for spaceflight remain the same.
